Freebird Org. was established to help women and their children achieve safety and wellbeing while challenging communities to end sexual and family violence. To stop the cycle of abuse, we realize that we need to offer programs to young men and women while continuing to help those in imminent need.
Through our Advocacy, Counseling and Children's Programs, MENtoring, Outreach, Education and Legal Assistance, we strive to reach our vision of a community free of intimate partner violence.
Although you may not see a service or program listed, do not hesitate to message us as we will not turn away anyone in need of help. We will find a way. You are never alone.
WHO WE ARE
Here at Freebird, we know that sometimes all it takes to help our community is a little support. Since our founding, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to help women and children who are trying to escape abuse. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
WHAT WE DO
Making A Difference
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Our advocates help victims with moral support in the courtroom. We also provide drivers for victims who suffer from anxiety driving to and from court.
Our pro-bono lawyers will provide legal services, advice and consulting to victims and their children.
HEALTH
At Freebird, we work with a variety of professionals to assist with health including: social workers, mental health, physical health and more.
ADVOCACY
Our advocates will be there for victims 24/7. They are trained to listen and help refer victims to services that they need.
FOOD/CLOTHING DONATION DROP-OFFS
We have partnered with the Salvation Army in East Northport, NY to take donations for our
HOUSING
At Freebird, we can help a victim to get into a safe house. We can also find safe, affordable housing. We work with several realtors, landlords and organizations that do not take any fees.
